Find the water provider for a Salt Lake Valley address

Use the street address before calling a city about culinary water. In the west and south Salt Lake Valley, a city boundary or mailing name may not identify the public water system that serves the property.

Start with the Utah Division of Drinking Water’s location search under “Who provides my drinking water?” It identifies the public drinking-water system tied to a location and gives contact information. If you already know the system name, use the separate system-detail search. Treat either result as a lead, then ask the named system to confirm the address.

Utah Commerce’s Find My Utility map is a second research route. Turn on the water-service-area layer and select the mapped area to see a provider name. The state calls the tool a work in progress, so the map does not replace confirmation from the provider.

West Jordan shows why the address check matters. Two water purveyors operate inside its boundaries: West Jordan serves most customers, while Kearns Improvement District serves a smaller area near 6200 South and 4200 West. That is a West Jordan example, not a provider list for every west- or south-valley community.

Keep each service separate. Culinary water, secondary or irrigation water, sewer, stormwater, and billing may belong to different entities. A map result also does not establish a new connection, current fees, account status, meter location, or development capacity.

Before opening an account or making a property decision, save the full address and the provider name returned by the lookup. Ask that provider to confirm culinary-water service, the current account or connection steps, and whether another entity handles secondary water or sewer.
