BYU's museums are several doorways, not one stop

Choose a subject before choosing a BYU museum. Provo’s university collections include distinct public-facing doorways for art, anthropology, and paleontology; they are not departments of one all-purpose museum.

The Museum of Art is the art route. The Museum of Peoples and Cultures holds anthropology collections. The Museum of Paleontology has its own fossil focus. Their proximity to the same university does not give them one location, schedule, or visitor policy.

That distinction matters on an ordinary visit. A person looking for fossils can begin with paleontology rather than arriving at an art museum and assuming the desired collection is somewhere else in the building.

It also keeps current details in the right place. Hours, admission, parking, group visits, exhibitions, and collection availability belong to each museum’s live information, and not every collection is necessarily on display.
